This season's outbreak of discarded Christmas tree fires continues to rage on, with another inferno breaking out last night on East Third Street between Avenue A and Avenue B. By now the tree fires have become fairly routine, but this one rises above the typical dog-bites-man (dog-pees-on-tree?) banality, thanks to photographer Francis Ratna, who shared some of his shots with EV Grieve. As you can see, the fire also claimed the life of an innocent bicycle. We're thinking ol' Steve Cuozzo better have an airtight alibi.

Fortunately no one was hurt in the blaze, thanks in no small part to a quick-thinking area man and his garden hose. Watch the video below (via GammaBlog), and never forget where you were on that frigid night in 2013 when the War on Cyclists spiraled completely out of control.
