Tractor trailer trucks are not allowed on the lower level of this section of the FDR, according to an FDNY spokesman, who said no one was injured in the crash. A DOT spokesman was unable to confirm the current traffic status now says that as of 9:45 a.m. the truck has been removed and all lanes have been reopened.
PIX 11 reports that the truck "hit about four overhead supports, gnarling its trailer. Heavy-duty trucks trying to clear the crash appeared to have backed up the tractor trailer, only to have the truck hit another support."
