The Mets iconic theme song clearly states that you are "guaranteed to have a heck of a day" when you go to the stadium to watch them play, which is tantamount to a legally binding contract in our eyes. And the team made good on that promise last night (even though Matt Harvey didn't pitch!) as it invited sleepy fans to Citi Field for the first ever giant slumber party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Met.
There were togas, a dinner buffet, free tickets to a future game (the September 28th home game against the Brewers), and reportedly, Edgardo Alfonzo's blue and orange Mets pajamas. After they watched the Mets beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 (in Arizona), fans got to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs on the big screen in center field.
About 400 people attended overall according to the Mets, and it seems like fans had a good time—and hopefully this guarantees that at least 400 people will attend that late season game against the Brewers!
