The Twitter Pit of Despair has been all a-flutter this weekend thanks to the start of the dreaded L-Pocalypse. But though the five-weekend service suspension from 8th Avenue to Lorimer Street is quite unpleasant, the MTA wants you to know that your suffering is not for naught, and they've released photos showing workers replacing the L's ever-problematic tracks.

Peruse the photos above, and remember that no matter how frustrating it is to have to take three trains to get to 14th Street, nothing compares to the L train pain triggered by a broken rail in the middle of rush hour. Plus, May 18th's only a few weeks away! One weekend (almost) down, four more to go.
