Last night the eighty-eight separate 7,000-watt bulbs that comprise the Tribute In Light were tested in Lower Manhattan in anticipation of next week's anniversary of the September 11 attacks. This is the first year that the 9/11 Memorial will be open at night for the tribute, and the public is invited to attend a special viewing of the display in the memorial plaza next Thursday evening.

According to the Tribeca Citizen, beginning at 6 p.m. on the 11th you'll be able to see the Tribute In Light "from a meaningful vantage point…just south of the Memorial site." The Memorial will remain open until midnight, and is accessible at Liberty and West Streets.
