This is a beeg week for bees! On Tuesday, a swarm of 30,000 bees escaped a hive in Astoria and, yesterday, another large swarm emerged on a tree last night—right across from a school in Brooklyn.

The NYPD's beekeeper Anthony Planakis was on the scene at a tree in front of 176 Kane Street in Cobble Hill. P.S. 29 is located across the street.

Apparently neighbors had complained about the busy insects, and a police source told the NYPD, "It’s a good thing this didn’t happen during school hours. These bees can be very aggressive this time of year."
