The awning of a Duane Reade near Union Square collapsed this morning. The cause is still unclear, but we're going to go ahead and speculate that it may be related to the magical mix of ice and snow that is bearing down on NYC like a vast army of bloodthirsty direwolves.

Employees at the Duane Reade at 24 East 14th Street didn't respond to Gothamist's request for comment, but it appears that no one was injured in the collapse.
