An anonymous anti-Citi Bike activist/performance artist has taken a strong stand against the program, scrawling the word "SCAM" on the rear wheel of several bikes docked near the Fruit Street Sitting Area in Brooklyn Heights.

The lack of detail in the artistic statement leaves many questions: Which part of Citi Bike is a scam? The high price of passes compared to other similar programs around the country? The bikes themselves? Is this someone's exasperated reaction to yet another malfunctioning dock? How many bored Post reporters live near the Fruit Street Sitting Area?

Financial troubles have lately left Citi Bike struggling to maintain its rides, so don't be surprised if the scrawled-upon cycles remain that way for awhile. Also, how long before Citi Bikes are the subways of today's Style Wars generation?
