Alexander Properetchny was performing unlicensed oral surgery on 71-year-old Villimin Colleti Tuesday, when his patient "fell unconscious." The fake dentist called 911, but not before allegedly dragging the unresponsive woman out onto the stoop of his building where he propped her in the doorway. Paramedics found Colleti on the sidewalk outside of 47-year-old Properetchny's office in Brighton Beach without any identification and took her to Coney Island Hospital where she was admitted as Jane Doe.
George Raynor Jr., who is Coletti's son, said that his father became concerned when she did not return home Tuesday evening and calls to several different hospitals eventually led to an unidentified white Jane Doe at Coney Island Hospital. George Raynor said that his wife suffered heart and brain damage from a lack of oxygen. Doctors at Coney Island Hospital say that it is unlikely that Colleti will survive the incident.
Properetchny's lawyer, Arthur Kent, is claiming that the fake doctor was the person who called 911 to get Colleti aid, but that "Nothing has been stated that my client has had anything to do with what happened to that lady. It can be just an unfortunate circumstance." Cops are saying, however, that Properetchny already admitted to performing unlicensed dental surgery on the woman. Properetchny is being held on bail of $200,000 bond or $50,000 cash.
