Earlier this morning, three pedestrians were struck by a car being pursued by the police. The incident occurred at West 122nd Street and Lenox Avenue, when the car jumped the curb. The Post says the police were involved in a "high-speed chase": "Cops were chasing the man because he was believed to be in possession of a gun."

Witnesses say the driver, who also hit a car with three people inside, and another passenger ran out of the car. A police official told the Post, "It was a bad guy trying to get away"; WABC says the chase started when the police were trying to arrest one of the men for robbery.

Two of the pedestrians are reportedly in critical condition while a third had neck and leg injuries. Those in the car that was struck by the suspect were also taken to a hospital.
