A pedestrian was struck and killed by the driver of an Access-A-Ride van in Coney Island last night.

Police say that a 55-year-old man was walking south across Neptune Avenue at West 6th Street when the van, traveling east on Neptune, struck him near the intersection.

The pedestrian was transported to Lutheran Hospital where he was pronounced dead; his identification is being withheld pending family notification.

An NYPD spokeswoman said that no summonses have been issued in the incident, but the investigation is ongoing.

Last December, a pedestrian in Murray Hill was seriously injured after an Access-A-Ride driver jumped the curb.
