A man was killed early this morning in the Bronx after being struck by two livery cabs. According to an NYPD release, the victim was attempting to cross Pelham Parkway near White Plains Road at around 1 a.m. when he was hit by the driver of a livery cab traveling west. Another westbound livery cab driver then struck him as he was lying in the roadway. The first driver remained at the scene, the second fled.

The victim was pronounced dead at Saint Barnabus Hospital. His identity is being withheld pending family notification. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

The incident was the first of two fatal hit and run crashes that occurred early Sunday morning; a man was struck and killed near Union Square roughly two hours later.
