It took them almost three days, and they came back with a mixed bag. The jury in the trial of former cop Patrick Pogan has found him guilty of filing a false criminal complaint against cyclist Christopher Long, which stated that cyclist Christopher Long had knocked him to the pavement, not vice-versa. Everyone who saw this video knows that Pogan's version of events defied reality, and the jury agreed.

However, Pogan was found not guilty of misdemenor assault, the Post reports. So now we know: Slamming a cyclist so hard he flies off his bike into the gutter doesn't qualify as assault! Nevertheless, the charge Pogan was convicted on carries the biggest penalty, up to four years in prison. A source in the courtroom tells us, "Everyone is upset....more details as they come." Tomorrow's Critical Mass ride should be a hoot.
