One person was killed, and 16 others were wounded in various shootings that occurred all around the city last night. All 17 shootings happened between midnight and 5 a.m. Sunday morning in Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. The lone fatality was an as yet unidentified 28-year-old man who was shot in the back just after 1:30 a.m. in Claremont Village in The Bronx. No arrests have been made in any of the shootings so far.

The shooting spree started just after midnight when a man shot a 30-year-old man in the gut and shoulder at a block party at 134th Street and Rockaway Boulevard in Queens; the victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital and is expected to survive. Around 1 a.m., a 22-year-old woman was shot in the foot on 127th Avenue in Jamaica. Minutes later, a 21-year-old man was shot in the shoulder while sitting in a car at 167th Street and Linden Boulevard also in Jamaica. Both suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Four men, ages 19, 20, 22, and 34, were shot outside a house party on East 48th Street in East Flatbush, Brooklyn around 1:30 a.m. Two of the victims were taken to Brookdale Hospital, and the other two were transported to Kings County Hospital. The 19-year-old suffered eight gunshot wounds, but all four are expected to live.

Two men were shot in the leg between 1:30 and 1:45 a.m. also in East New York—one at the corner of Stanley and Euclid Avenues, the other on Loring Avenue. Also around that time, a 25-year-old man was shot in the hand on the Grand Concourse and 158th Street in The Bronx; a different man was shot in the back at Park Avenue and East 169th Street in Claremont around 2:20 a.m.

Also around this time period, a 16-year-old man was shot in the back in the Morris Houses on Washington Avenue. Just before 2:30 a.m., a man was shot on the Van Wyck Expressway in Richmond Hill. Just before 3:20 a.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg at Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 131st Street. At 3:30 a.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the left upper thigh at Legion Street and Sutter Avenue in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.

And finally, just around 4:20 a.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the face on 113th Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens; he is also expected to survive.
