A police officer was injured Sunday night after rescuing a man from the Fulton Street A train tracks in lower Manhattan.
According to police, the man was run over by the northbound A train around 9:18 p.m. He was dragged, still conscious, from the tracks by the officer and taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he is being treated for broken bones and head injuries.
The officer was also injured in the process of hauling the man from the tracks, and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he is in stable condition. According to NBC New York, the officer was attempting to hoist the man from the tracks when he fell in as well.
