An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested for drunk driving last night after police saw his vehicle stalled on Long Island Rail Road tracks in Long Island City.

Hitesh Arosha, 39, was driving his personal vehicle Sunday night when officers saw him obstructing the LIRR tracks on Borden Avenue near the Pulaski Bridge around 10:04 p.m. According to an NYPD spokesperson, officers smelled alcohol on Arosha's breath but he refused to take a breathalyzer test. (It's common for police officers to refuse to take a breath test when being arrested for drunk driving, forcing police to get a warrant to take a blood sample, during which time the suspect's Blood Alcohol Content diminishes.)

Arosha has been charged with DWI, obstructing a railroad crossing, and refusing to take a breath test.
