An off-duty correction officer was arrested for allegedly raping a woman at gunpoint in Brooklyn early this morning. Eddie Colon, 49, has been charged with rape, assault, criminal use of a firearm, unlawful imprisonment, menacing, and criminal obstruction of breathing in the incident.
According to the Daily News, Colon was having an argument with a 31-year-old relative inside his Brownsville apartment when he threw a mattress on the floor and wrestled her to the ground. Their sources say he held her at gunpoint, covered her mouth when she attempted to scream for help, ripped off her clothing, and raped her.
Metro's police sources add that the woman tried to escape the apartment after the rape, and Colon allegedly dragged her away from the door and punched her several times in her stomach and ribs.
