Tonight, many NYPD precincts are participating in National Night Out, which gives an opportunity for the police and communities to meet and work together on fighting crime. Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, the NYPD says its "precincts organize anti-crime rallies with the participation of local business and civic organizations." Also: "Various Police Department units present displays, and other City, State and Federal agencies also take part." You can see which precincts near you are participating here—we bet Park Slope's 78th Prencinct turnout will be big, after this weekend's fatal beating by mob.
