The NYPD's Emerald Society Pipes and Drums Band is leading a memorial procession in lower Manhattan today, marking the 15th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The procession will begin at noon, at Zuccotti Park, Trinity Place between Liberty and Cedar Streets, and then make its way to the NYPD memorial in Battery Park.

The procession will feature 17 other pipe bands, 2 marching bands and 27 historical police cars. A wreath will be laid at the Law Enforcement Memorial Wall.

There are a number of street closures in lower Manhattan:

The groups participating are: Port Authority Pipes and Drums; NYS Police Pipes and Drums; Nassau County Pipes and Drums; Suffolk County Pipes and Drums; Westchester Pipes and Drums; NYS ECP Pipes and Drums; Bergen County Pipes and Drums; NJSP Pipes and Drums; Boston Gaelic Pipes & Drums; Cleveland Police Pipes and Drums; Chicago Police Pipes and Drums; Seattle Police Pipes and Drums; Wilmington, NC Pipes and Drums; Quantico Marine Corp Band; Westpoint Cadet Pipes and Drums; Eastern LI Pipes and Drums; and Wake & District Public Safety Pipes and Drums.
