The police are hoping the public can help them identify a man accused of dragging a woman to a rooftop and raping her yesterday morning.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred in the Bronx at about 1 a.m. yesterday: The suspect "approached a 21-year-old female and stated that he had a knife. The male then forced the female victim into the rooftop landing of a building on Banyer Place, where he raped her." Then he fled with her belongings.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital for observation.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect on a scooter on Banyer Place and describe him as about 6', 140 pounds with a medium complexion, black hair in braids, brown eyes and a rash on the right side of his face.
