The NYPD is searching for men they say looted $8,000 worth of cigarettes from two Rite Aids on Smith Street this week.

According to police, the first incident took place at 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14th, at the Rite Aid at 320 Smith Street, near President Street. The unidentified men allegedly took $4,000 worth of cigarettes off the drugstore shelves before fleeing in an unknown direction.

Exactly ten minutes later, the men walked into the Rite Aid at 182 Smith Street, near Warren Street, according to police. There, they allegedly took another $4,000 worth of cigarette cartons off the shelves, but when they attempted to leave the store, an employee tried to stop them; one of the men then slashed the employee with a knife, police said.

The men fled in a black vehicle, headed in an unknown direction, according to police. The employee was treated at Methodist hospital. The NYPD provided photos of the suspects, above.
