At what point does the West Village McDonald's just pack it in and call it a day? Because despite threats of boycotts and promises of bouncers, the violence there just keeps raging. The latest incident at the West 3rd Street McD's occurred Wednesday around 7 p.m. when, according to the NYPD, a man allegedly made a homophobic comment to another man and then slashed him with a razor. The NYPD is investigating the attack as a hate crime.

According to the NYPD the victim, a 22-year-old black man, "became involved in a verbal argument with the suspect after the suspect made anti-gay statements to the victim." As happens, the argument then "escalated into a physical altercation during which the suspect took out a razor blade and slashed the victim on the elbow, face, back and neck." After the blood started flowing, the suspect fled the scene. The victim was soon taken to Bellevue where he received stitches.

Sadly, this is just one incident in a long line of recent troubles for the fast food restaurant, which has of late been home to a St. Patrick's Day brawl, a customer beatdown by an employee (who was found not guilty) and an alleged gay-on-gay gay bashing.

The suspect, above, is described as being between the ages of 35 and 40, approximately 5'10" and between 300 and 350 pounds. Anyone with info is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
