NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly announced that he will unveil a new "Domain Awareness System" that will combine video feed from across with city with the department's existing databases to create something the AP describes as "all-seeing." Kelly told an audience at the Aspen Security Forum that the system's software was developed by Microsoft , presumably so that the NYCLU will chill out because it will be hacked or frozen within a month anyway.

The system could debut as soon as next week, or whenever Steve Ballmer says he's ready to kick down the door to the press room at 1 PP and show the world what Microsoft is really about. Your guess is as good as ours as to what "all seeing" means, but given that the NYPD is also working on obtaining a fleet of surveillance drones, we're looking forward to our lives being turned into a long, pointless episode of Cheaters.
