Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to strangle an elderly woman with his hoodie in Brooklyn. The incident happened around 3:45 p.m. Saturday on East 2nd Street near Ditmas Avenue in Kensington. Barje Meti, 88, was sitting on the stoop in front of her house when the suspect approached her to talk.
Meti's son told CBS that the suspect grabbed his mother's leg, at which point she yelled at him, and he tried to get into the house. "My mother got up, and he got mad," Luftim Meti told CBS. "As he got mad, he grabbed the chair. He threw the chair. Then he pushed my mother."
The suspect, a man in his 20's, then allegedly dragged her into the apartment, assaulted her, removed his red hoodie and attempted to strangle her with it. The suspect then fled the home on foot, while Meti was taken to Maimonides Hospital in stable condition.
