Police are asking for the public's help in identifying and finding a person who grabbed an eight-year-old girl and tried to rape her last weekend in the Bronx.
According to the NYPD, the incident occurred on Saturday, October 24, at around 5:32 p.m. in the 46th Precinct: The eight-year-old girl "was entering her building... when she was approached from behind by an unknown male suspect, who then put his arms forcibly around her mouth, restraining her movements, and then proceeded to place his hand down her pants onto her vagina."
Police say the victim started to scream, and the suspect then fled. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and then released.
The authorities released surveillance video of the suspect in the vicinity of the attack, and described him as approximately 5'9" and 165 pounds. Investigators say he has light skin complexion and is clean shaven and was wearing a dark fitted baseball cap, grey hooded sweat shirt, red t-shirt, ripped light jeans and grey sneakers.
