While convenient, the closed confines of elevators can make for some scary experiences. Especially if you are a young child alone with a stranger. Which is what makes a recent report out of Queens all the more scary. According to police, the man seen in this police sketch sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl in a Flushing elevator on July 31.

The police aren't releasing much information about the assault, but it seems to have occurred in an apartment building around 7:30 p.m. near Colden Street and Franklin Avenue. The attacker is described as being 45-55 years old, 5'4" tall and between 165 and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing tan shorts and a green shirt with blue stripes.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect's identity is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. Sadly this is not the first time elevators have been used by creeps for sexual assaults.
