In July, the NYPD sent out a request for the public's help in locating a man wanted for 14 robberies in the 7th, 9th and 13th Precincts. Now, the NYPD has added two more to the long list and released a photograph of the suspect.
Police say the man, described as a black male, 30-40, around 5'9"-6", with a dark complexion, thin mustache and thin beard, typically "approaches victims in various locations, displays or simulates a weapon (firearm or knife), threatens the victims, and demands personal property," such as cash, jewelry, and cellphones. None of the victims has been injured yet.
The incidents are listed below—the 7th Precinct covers the Lower East Side, the 9th Precinct is the East Village, and the 13th Precinct covers Stuyvesant Town, Gramercy Park and part of Chelsea.
Incident#1 (9th Pct): On May 5,2012 (Sat) at 1920hrs,inside of 205 Avenue C, suspect approaches F/59 in the elevator, simulates a firearm, demands personal property and flees with victim's chain.
Incident#2 (9th Pct): On May 8,2012 (Tue) at 2355hrs,inside of 205 Avenue C, suspect approaches M/22 inside of the elevator, pushes him against the wall, simulates a firearm, forcibly removes his cellphone and charger and flees the location.
Incident#3 (9th Pct): On May 11,2012 (Fri) at 0130hrs, inside of 1141 Roosevelt Drive, suspect approached M/20 inside of the elevator and forcibly removed his wallet containing an undetermined amount of USC and his cellphone and fled the location in an unknown direction.
Incident#4 (9th Pct): On May 15, 2012 (Tue) at 1125hrs, inside of 643 East 13th Street, suspect approached a M/40 inside of the elevator, displayed a knife and forcibly removed a Sony PSP, USC, and a watch and fled the location in an unknown direction.
Incident#5 (7th Pct): On May 17, 2012 at 2345hrs, at the C/O Jackson Street and East River Park, suspect approached F/19 and F/20 who were walking S/B on the FDR Park bike path, displayed a knife and removed personal property before fleeing the location.
Incident#6 (7th Pct): On May 21, 2012 (Mon) at 2115hrs, at the C/O East River and East Houston Street, suspect approached M/19, displayed a firearm and fled with the victim's cell phone.
Incident#7 (7th Pct): On May 22, 2012 (Tue) at 2115hrs, at the C/O East River Park and Grand Street, suspect approached M/26, simulated a firearm and fled with the victim's cell phone.
Incident#8 (9th Pct): On May 22, 2012 (Tue) at 2320hrs, at the C/O East Houston Street and Roosevelt Drive, suspect approached M/23, displays a knife demanding the victim's cell phone but does not receive personal property before fleeing the location.
Incident#9 (9th Pct): On May 28, 2012 (Mon) at 2310hrs, at the C/O Roosevelt Drive and East 10th Street, suspect approaches M/19, displays a knife and fled with victim's cell phone.
Incident#10 (9th Pct): On June 5, 2012 (Tue) at 0020hrs, at the C/O of Roosevelt Drive and East 10th Street, suspect approached F/22,suspect simulated a firearm and fled with the victim's cell phone.
Incident#11 (13th Pct): On June 27, 2012 (Wed) at 0110hrs, at 312 Avenue C, suspect approached a M/22, and fled with victim's personal property.
Incident#12 (7th Pct): On July 2, 2012 (Mon) at 0130hrs, at the C/O of East River Park and Montgomery Street, suspect approached M/46, simulated a firearm demanding victim's cell phone but was unable to obtain personal property.
Incident#13 (13th Pct): On July 13, 2012 (Fri) at 0005hrs, at East 23rd Street, suspect approached a M/20 removing victim's headphones and cellphone before fleeing the location.
Incident#14 (9th Pct): On Friday, July 20, 2012 at 2030hrs, at 1115 Roosevelt Drive, suspect approached M/56 demanding victim's wallet and fled the location in an unknown direction.Incident#15 (13th Pct): On Friday, July 27, 2012 at 2155 hours at 801 East 14 Street, suspect approached a M/19 and demanded his iPod. The victim complied, and the suspect fled location with property.
Incident#16 (13th Pct); On Friday, July 27, 2012 at 2155 hours at 801 East 14 Street, suspect approached a F/16 and demander her iPhone. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the location with property.
