The police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man suspected of assaulting a person in midtown Manhattan yesterday.

According to the NYPD, the incident happened at 3:10 a.m. at Speedy Cafe, at 1271 Broadway when the suspected approached two men and made an anti-gay comment at them. Then he kicked one of the victims in the left shoulder

The suspect fled west on West 32nd Street, but police released this surveillance photograph of him on a subway platform. He's described as being in his 40s with black hair and wearing a black tank top, black shorts and black sneakers while carrying a dark-colored backpack.
