Two men tried to rob and rape a woman in Ridgewood early yesterday morning, and the NYPD is asking the public for help tracking them down. According to investigators, the 18-year-old victim was walking in the vicinity of Putnam Avenue and Seneca Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. when the two suspects approached her from behind. One suspect punched her in the head, while the other choked her and covered her mouth with his hand.

One of the men tried to take her pocketbook while the other began to sexually assault her. Fortunately, police say "a passerby approached causing both suspects to flee the location." The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital where she was treated and released. Here's video of the two suspects:

Both suspects are described as Hispanic males in their early 30s, standing about 5'5". One was last seen wearing a striped shirt, white hat, camouflaged shorts and a backpack; the other had a ponytail and was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt with "Aero 199" on the left sleeve and a backpack.
