Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an alleged subway assault last month. And the whole thing started after the victim and suspect apparently bumped into each other.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred at 10:30 a.m. on May 23rd: A 34-year-old woman was on the D/Q train near Church Avenue when she and another woman got into a verbal disagreement about "the two bumping into each other on the train. The argument escalated into the suspect punching the victim, causing the victim's head to strike a pole."

The victim was then shoved off the train by the suspect.

The police released an image of the suspect.
