More details about the alleged child porn activities of NYPD police sergeant Alberto Randazzo came out at the 15-year police veteran's arraignment yesterday... and they are not good. According to the police complaint, detectives found 11 damning pornographic videos, and more pictures, on Randazzo's computer. In one, the officer of the law is said to be "directing" a naked, adult woman to sexually abuse an infant. "Put your hand inside of his diaper,” a voice identified as Randazzo’s instructs the woman. "Talk dirty to him."
And it goes on. Other instructions Randazzo is allegedly heard giving include telling a woman simulating oral sex with a baby "Head up and down." In another he tells a different woman to "Break out of your mold, see what you're made of." And in yet another he tells a woman stroking a baby's leg to "play with his balls."
Investigators believe that Randazzo didn't actually have any physical contact with the children whose images were found on his Toshiba laptop. The adults and children in the videos have not been publicly identified.
At yesterday's arraignment Randazzo's bail was set at $40,000, which his mother and stepfather later paid. If convicted he faces up to 15 years in prison. Still, according to a neighbor Randazzo "was a perfect gentleman, in my opinion." The last time she saw him was Sunday, a day before he turned himself into the police. He was with his mother at the time:
“I said to the mother ‘You have a great guy. He’s the best!’” Keeffe recalled. “And the mother said, ‘Yes, I love him. He’s my best.’ And she was carrying his laundry up,” Keeffe said. “She always did his laundry.”
Randazzo, who was assigned to Midtown North and makes $98,000-a-year, has been suspended without pay. He has been charted with using a child in a sexual performance, promoting the sexual performance by a child and possession of a sexual performance by a child.
