A 36-year-old NYPD Sergeant with 15 years on the force was arrested last night after child pornography was allegedly found on his computer. After being arrested, Alberto Randazzo of Queens was charged with use of a child in a sexual performance, promoting sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child.
According to police, the incriminating pornography was found on a computer belonging to Randazzo. Still it is not immediately clear if the computer was his own personal computer or the police department's. Sources tell the Daily News that investigators have no evidence the sergeant had physical contact with a child.
Randazzo was suspended without pay pending until the outcome of the criminal investigation.
