The NYPD is searching for a suspect they say struck a 33-year-old man in the head with a tire iron just a block from the Bedford Avenue L stop in Williamsburg earlier this month.
According to police, the attack occurred at 7:55 p.m. on August 4th, outside 188 Bedford Avenue near North 7th Street.
The suspect, a 25 to 29-year-old man, allegedly got into a verbal dispute with the victim, then got a tire iron from a nearby car and struck the victim in the head before fleeing.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and treated for a skull fracture.
When contacted for comment, an employee at Rosemary's Tavern, which is located at 188 Bedford Avenue, said they were unaware of the incident.
Police say that they are looking for a man who is about 5'9 and 190 lbs. and has a long black pony tail. He's seen in the below surveillance video holding a tire iron and wearing a red t-shirt, black and white patterned pants and red and white sneakers.
