The police are hoping the public can help them identify a person who opened fire on a Brooklyn sidewalk Friday night.

According to the police, at 6:30 p.m. on September 26th, a 20-year-old man standing in front of 263 Nostrand Avenue was shot in the leg. Video shows the suspect stepping from the sidewalk into the street and then turning to shoot the victim:

Police describe the suspect as being in his late teens to early 20s, medium build, clean shaven and low haircut. He was wearing a black t-shirt, grey sweatpants and black and white sneakers
