An NYPD officer was caught Monday morning in what's being described as a "sweeping" investigation into child porn file sharing. Officer Yong-Fa Wu, 34, who is assigned to the 62nd Precinct in Bensonhurst, was arrested in an early morning raid at his Ozone Park home. Multiple graphic videos were found on his computer, including pornography with girls believed to be as young as 8.
According to a copy of the criminal complaint obtained by the NY Post, surveillance at the beginning of April detected "at least 60 files of investigative interest" connected to Officer Wu. The NYPD press office announced yesterday that Wu is charged with Promoting Sexual Performance of a Child under the age of 17 and Possession of Sexual Performance by Child. He has been suspended and is being held on $50,000 bail.
Officer Wu's arrest comes roughly a year after an NYPD Sergeant was arrested on child pornography charges and suspended from force. According to the criminal complaint, detectives found 11 pornographic videos, and more pictures, on Sergeant Alberto Randazzo's computer. In one, the officer was said to be "directing" a naked, adult woman to sexually abuse an infant. "Put your hand inside of his diaper,” a voice identified as Randazzo’s instructs the woman. "Talk dirty to him."
