The NYPD is searching for a man they say assaulted another man in Crown Heights after making anti-gay and anti-Asian remarks to him. The attack is being investigated as a hate crime.

Investigators say the incident happened on April 29th at around 10 a.m., at Eastern Parkway near Buffalo Avenue. The 28-year-old victim bumped into the suspect, who police believe to be around 25 years old, outside 1261 Eastern Parkway; the suspect then allegedly made anti-gay and anti-Asian remarks to the victim.

Then, according to the NYPD, the suspect began punching and kicking the victim, before fleeing the scene. Cops say the victim was treated and released from a local hospital.

Police describe the suspect as male, approximately 25-year-old, 6'0" tall with short black curly hair, tapered goatee and was last seen wearing a checkered pattern flannel shirt, blue jeans, and red and yellow sneakers.
