NYPD: Man Claiming To Be Police Officer Groped Woman Through Open Bedroom Window

An intruder scaling a Brooklyn building rooftop groped a woman and then asked to join her in her bed, police say. The man also allegedly claimed he was a police officer.

The incident occurred in Prospect Lefferts Gardens around 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 12th, at a building near Clarkson and Rogers Avenue in the 67th Precinct. According to the NYPD, the man "was walking on a second floor rooftop of a building... when he reached into an open bedroom window and groped a 21 year-old female who was sleeping in her bed."

When she woke up, police say that the suspect "claimed to be a police officer and asked to join her in her bed."

The victim screamed, prompting the suspect to flee. Police released this surveillance footage of the suspect, who is wanted for burglary, on a rooftop:
