The police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who assaulted someone in Manhattan last month.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred on May 10, at 9:40 p.m. when an 18-year-old man was at the corner of Third Avenue and East 23rd Street. Cops say the vicim "was talking to the suspect... about a dance competition when the suspect began to punch him in the face."

The suspect fled and the victim was treated at Bellevue for a broken jaw, fractured eye socket and abrasions to the head.

Police describe the suspect as an Asian male in his early twenties. Here's surveillance video:
