Cops are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a woman with a cane after the two came to blows over a subway seat dispute last weekend.

The incident happened last Saturday around 3:30 p.m. when the suspect in the photo above got into an argument over a seat with the 24-year-old female victim while they were traveling on a northbound 2 train. When the victim exited the train at the East 149 Street and Grand Concourse subway station, the suspect pushed the victim from behind, causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect then proceeded to hit the victim with his cane and stepped on her right hand.

The male suspect is described by police as approximately 40 years-old, approximately 5'7", and approximately 175 lbs.

This has been a busy week for subway incidents: police say a straphanger on the F train allegedly threatened fellow riders with a glass bottle, which he later smashed against a window; a woman allegedly punched a straphanger for leaning on her on the A train; and a woman was punched in the face by her ex-boyfriend on the E train.
