The NYPD is looking for a man they say attempted to rape a 23-year-old woman in Brooklyn this summer, and was also spotted walking naked in the area a few weeks prior.

Cops say the attempted rape occurred on August 29th at around 11:15 p.m. The victim says she was walking to her residence near East 55th Street and Avenue J when the suspect, who was naked at the time, grabbed her from behind by the neck, threw her to the ground, and sexually abused her.

He also allegedly attempted to rape her, but she was able to break free.

The Daily News reports that the man told the victim he was suffering from sex demons, and asked her to pray for him before he fled the scene.

The NYPD says a man fitting the suspect's description was spotted walking on a public sidewalk on East 52nd Street, between Avenue J and Avenue I, at around 6 am. on August 12th, just a few weeks before the attempted rape occurred.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 25-35 years of age, 5'6"-5'9". You can see him in the surveillance video below:
