The police announced they apprehended the suspect in an attempted rape in Kips Bay earlier this month. Donnelle Murphy was arrested yesterday.

According to the NYPD, on December 16, the suspect had forced his way into a woman's apartment near Lexington Avenue around 2 a.m. He had claimed to have found her wallet, which she left at a nearby McDonald's.

When inside, the suspect tried to rape the victim. She was able to fight him off and he then fled.

In addition to attempted rape, Murphy was charged with burglary, grand larceny, menacing and assault.
