Police are searching for a person stole a D train rider's credit card and debit card last month. According to the NYPD, the thief would have gotten away with more if the victim and good Samaritans hadn't chased him down.

The incident took place shortly before 7 p.m. on May 31st. According to the NYPD, when a northbound D train was approaching the Fordham Road subway station, a male grabbed a 27-year-old woman's Samsung Galaxy 7 and also tried to snatch her purse, but only managed to get away with the phone.

The thief then fled, police said, only for the victim and others to chase him into a Burger King at 217 East Fordham Road, "where they were able to retrieve her phone." The suspect ultimately fled the restaurant with the victim's cellphone case, which contained the credit and debit cards.
