An off-duty correction officer was arrested this morning after drunkenly crashing his jeep into half a dozen parked cars, attempting to flee, and then soiling himself.

Officer Brandon Dauo, 28, now faces a slew of charges for the incident, which began on Sherman Avenue near Dyckman Street at about 1:30 a.m. on Friday, police said. He allegedly rammed into five parked cars, then attempted to drive away before colliding head-on with a truck on W. 207th Street.

The crash set off a chain reaction that caused several cars to slam into each other, leading to "multiple injuries," authorities said. It's unclear how many people were hurt or whether their injuries are serious.

According to the criminal complaint, police officers observed Dauo with a "strong odor of alcoholic beverages, flushed color of face, and filled clothing." (The clothing was filled with pee.)

The city employee was subsequently charged with reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident with an injury, failing to show his license, driving while intoxicated, and refusing to take a breath test.

A spokesperson for the Department of Corrections did not respond to a request for comment.
