NY1 has fired embattled newsman Dominic Carter following his conviction for attempted assault against his wife — and his job anchoring "Inside City Hall" is already up for grabs for those with "strong news judgment" and "strong knowledge of NYC, politics, events and history."

After being put "on leave" by NY1, Carter — who could be sentenced today to up to three months behind bars — has been officially canned, the Post reports. His dismissal coincides closely with this job posting on the Time Warner Cable site, which advertises Carter's old gig anchoring the "nightly New York City political news and interview show Inside City Hall." Applicants are expected to conduct live interviews, moderate debates, shoot and edit video, and check and maintain equipment. "At least 4 years previous journalism experience or relevant beat experience required," the posting notes. "On-air experience and/or experience covering politics preferred."
