If you reside along the L line in Bushwick and somehow haven't given up on the L train yet, it's probably time you faced facts and just let it go. As you may have noticed, the L was suspended in parts of Brooklyn overnight a lot in August, and it didn't run past Lorimer into Bushwick at all on Labor Day weekend. Or last weekend. And it won't operate between Lorimer and Myrtle-Wyckoff this weekend either! Please be patient/give up on life. Because there's more to come. From the MTA:
From 11:45 p.m. Friday, September 13th to 5 a.m. Monday, September 16th, there is no L train service between Lorimer Street and Myrtle-Wyckoff Aves due to track tie renewal at Lorimer Street and Graham Avenue. L trains operate in two sections:
• Between 8th Avenue and Lorimer Street
• Between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Rockaway Parkway
Free shuttle buses provide alternate service between Lorimer Street and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues.
Those freaking tracks better be tied up in an bright, shiny bow so pretty it takes our breath away next time we get to ride a train on them. Because here is a photo of the shuttle bus situation, taken this Saturday afternoon at the Lorimer L stop:
Look upon the MTA's works, ye mighty, and please be patient. A spokesman tells us "the track tie renewal project will take several weeks. Other planned outages are as follows: 9/27-9/30, 10/4-10/7, 10/11-10/14."
