A 35-year-old mother of two has been indicted on "40 counts of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child for engaging in sex acts with six male victims," according to Bloomfield Life.
Nicole DuFault was arrested last fall for allegedly sexually assaulting three teen boys during the 2013-2014 school year at Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ. Then, over the following months, three more boys came forward, claiming the language arts teacher assaulted them as well—and prosecutors claimed there was a video of DuFault performing oral sex on one of the victims.
Prosecutors say that the assaults took place on school grounds and in DuFault's car. Last fall, DuFault's lawyer told NJ.com, "It’s difficult for me to comment without seeing the video," but, "sometimes a video…doesn’t tell the entire story... If the video depicts certain things happening…that doesn’t mean that my client’s not innocent... for example, she could be the victim... People are victimized by juveniles all the time."
While DuFault is out free on $500,000 bail, WCBS 2 reports, "Dufault is the mother of two boys ages 2 and 4 who are now in state custody, CBS2’s Weijia Jiang reported in September 2014. Her husband moved out last year."
