A "pleasure boat" from Jersey City sank in the East River yesterday, after hitting an unidentified object. The twelve people aboard were rescued and have been treated at local NYC hospitals. While police officers don't believe any misconduct (drinking) was involved, Gothamist wonders if they hit an improperly discarded corpse. It's possible, as it is the East River.
