The Post gives a nickname for that area that seems too west to be Chelsea: OuCh, Outer Chelsea. Heh. It's in their guide to new places to drink, with the Maritime Hotel (Ninth Avenue and 16th Street) in OuCh. Gothamist has wondered about giving areas nicknames. What is that area north of TriBeCa and west of Soho? WeSoHo? TriBeCa North?
Maybe we should police lingo for our neighborhoods. Gothamist North is in the 2-0 and Gothamist South is in the 6. Find your police precinct.
