Next year, the Treasury Department will be rolling out a re-designed $100 bill that features another color (orange!) and an inkwell. However, the FBI announced that a large amount of unreleased money was stolen from a flight on Thursday!

A source says about $20,000 of the new bills were stolen from a Dallas-Philadelphia flight. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports, "The plane, which was not identified, arrived about 10:25 a.m. at Philadelphia International Airport, Special Agent Frank Burton Jr. said Friday. A courier service transporting the money reported the theft about 2 p.m. when its employees arrived at the Federal Reserve Building in East Rutherford, N.J., Burton said."

How did they know money was taken? Well, the container was opened. The FBI will be investigating airport as well as courier employees, but in the meantime, anyone who is offered the premature money should call the FBI at 215-418-4000.
