A New York man plummeted 25-feet into a canyon in Yellowstone National Park after leaning back to take a picture of a...sign.
The 71-year-old apparently toppled backward over a stone barrier on Sunday, though he was able to brace himself against a crevice in the rocks until rescuers were able to pull him to safety.
“According to staff on scene, the man was extremely lucky,” the release said. “The crevice and the angle of his body during the fall helped the man stop at the top of a 200 foot drop. A fall just inches to the left may have resulted in a fatality as the canyon wall is mostly steep loose rock.”
Officials said the man was treated for a hip injury. It's unclear what social media platform he posted his fateful photo on (if any) but we're sure it was totally worth it.
